Helium Point Test

  1. This system relies on the introduction of an inert contaminant that is easy to detect.
  2. Helium is introduced into the system and then an electronic gas detector, or 'sniffer', is used to find or pinpoint the source of the helium.
  3. This type of approach requires adequate seals to ensure the contaminant enters through leaks and not any other source.
  4. This approach works well around yards and other landscaped areas where a listening device may be impractical.
